Jeans

Oh hey! :) I have followers now! How exciting! I'm not talking to myself anymore! Ok onto the post...

I went shopping the other day and I got some more nail polish which I just remembered I put a pic on my facebook page but never made a post. I'll have to do that after this one. So after such a great nail polish day I was all excited to do something cool with my nails with my new stuff. The only problem was I had nail polish on already. Not normally a problem but for some reason the last time I painted my nails I put on glitter -.-

Not even kidding it took my mom and I at least 30 minutes to get all the polish and glitter off my nails. Then I did all the nail treatment stuff like buffing & nail polish that is supposed to help with my peeling nails. Let's hope that works because it said not to put polish on for like a week or something like that and I don't know if I can do that seeing how I've had painted nails constantly since the middle of July.

Now onto what I did to my nails because this is turning into a long post. I tried to make it look like my nails were jeans. Let them have polish has a video that I kinda based mine off of. I don't know if these scream out jeans but whatever I still kinda like them. I put both hands in the pic this time.

I used Sally Hansen Thinking of Blue, Sinful Colors Paradise, and Revlon Blue Lagoon that is pretty much impossible to see in the pic but in person you can see the sparkles from it.

Another French Nail Variation :D

Ok so I knew I wanted to do another french nail variation but I had a little trouble getting some inspiration. I spent a good 2 hours on google images & youtube looking at pictures & no spark. My friend suggested fall & i thought of a really cool idea, only it wasn't the right time for it. It has to be later on in the season for it to work so look forward to that! Finally, getting iritated that I couldn't think of anything and feeling pressured because i had to be somewhere in little over an hour, I just went at it. Somehow I just let my hand draw whatever it wanted on my nails.
Here's what came of it:

I used Pure Ice Superstar, the pink from the Sally Hansen french nail kit, L.A. Color Art Deco brush in silver & Sally Hansen nail art pen in black.

French Nail Variation

It's long sleeve weather!!! My nails always look so much better when I wear long sleeves. I've been in a french nail mood lately so I've decided my next couple of times I paint my nails they will be some sort of french manicure.

I used Pure Ice Super Star, the pink that comes in the Sally Hansen French Nail kit thing, Pure Ice Beware, & L.A. Color Art Deco in Purple.

I also painted my friend's nails but someone forgot to take pictures so I guess we'll just have to wait till next time to put them on the blog.

Money nails

Tomorrow I have to go to banking with my mom at the elementary school. I have to wake up super early which isn't fun for an insomniac who hasn't fallen asleep before 3 am in months. But anywho, I figured I would paint my nails in things to do with money to get myself excited.

I did a money bag on my thumb, a quarter of my pointer finger, dollar on the middle, piggy bank on the ring, and a failed attempt at a penny because i couldn't get the brown to get lighter when I tried mixing it. Oh well : /.

9/11 nails

I had to do it. Just something simple but hopefully meaningful. Our country's colors red, white, and blue with crackle over it to symbolize the the cracks left in America after 9/11. The memorial in NYC is really pretty. Hopefully I will visit it someday, perhaps when the museum is finished?

I used Pure Ice Super Star as a base, L.A. Color Art Deco brushes in red & blue for the stripes & Sally Hansen Crackle Fractured Foil over it. I used Sally Hansen nail art pen in black to write the date of the attacks.

It looks better in person, I always have trouble taking pictures of sparkles. :/

Zebra

So after that not so great post, here's a somewhat happier one! :)

A while ago now, I asked my fb & twitter peoples for ideas on what to paint on my nails. I got a response on twitter from someone who said to do zebra stripes. Relatively easy. I went on google(I love google, so helpful) to look at pictures of zebras and their stripes.

I used Pure Ice Super Star! as the base & L.A. Color Art Deco Black for the stripes.

What a long night...

Ok so I tend to do my nails at some ridiculous time of night because I am a total night owl/insomniac and what else is there to do? So I asked my facebook friends for any suggestions for designs before I started(I have a list of ideas but sometimes nothing jumps out as "I have to do this!" so I ask people) and my friend suggested Phineas & Ferb(we love that show). I was skeptical at first but I told her I would look into it. I went on google & found a video (IHaveACupcake on youtube there is also a fb page) & I put my can-do attitude right on & got 2 work! Phineas came out HORRIBLE! I figured i would just redo him if the others came out relatively ok but then Candace had some issues(might have just been me) & Isabella looked bad b/c of my small pinky nail, Ferb was the only one I absolutely loved. Perry came out pretty cool too. Then there was no way I would be able to do them all on my other hand.

So....I removed them & then I figured I would do argyle. I was gonna do purple but the purple I tried first was really blue & I couldn't get it all off so my nails still had blue around them. Then I figured I might as well do blue argyle since my nails already were kinda blue. I couldn't get the squares right so I took them of and decided I was gonna use my Zoya Katy that I hadn't gotten around to using yet and I put Sally Hansen crackle Fractured Foil over it.

By now it's 5:30 in the morning and I was mad at myself for spending all night on my nails only to be something simple. Here's a pic of what came out of that night. Maybe I'll try Phineas and Ferb again someday & I'll put the pic of it on here.

Paint Splatter

I got this idea from cutepolish on youtube. She also has a facebook, so check those out. These nails are SUPER easy to do even on the non dominant hand. All you need are your nail colors, cutepolish used a base & 4 colors i used a base & 3, and a tooth pick. Mine got just a tad messy so I recommend having q-tips handy for cleanup.

Paint your nails your base color. Then choose a corner of your nail & place a blob of paint on your nail. Use a toothpick & spread out the color so it looks like splattered paint. Simple right? You can do all of 1 color in the same spot, like all the yellow splatters in the bottom left, or switch it up for each nail. I switched mine up.

I used Pure Ice Super Star, Zoya Areej, Wet 'n' Wild Tweety, & NYC Color Spring Street.

Back to School

Ok so this week everyone went back to school...well not me, but it's a long story. Anywho, I saw a picture of back to school nails on facebook(I think there was/is? a contest to win something I just follow so many nail things I can't remember what one it was on) and thought that would be perfect for this weeks nails. My nails chipped so bad in the shower there was no way I could go to bed with them so bad, so at 1am I sat down and did my nails. One hour later my nails were done.
So I did a ruler, blue lined paper(inside joke), a pencil, an alarm clock that I couldn't get to photo that great, & the stereotypical red apple. I used Milani holo 510, Pure Ice Super Star, Wet 'n' Wild Tweetie, Wet 'n' Wild Wild Shine Pink Petal Glitter, Zoya Angelina, Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen black, Claire's 2 way nail art pen/brush green, 10 Chocolate Kiss, and L.A. Color Art Deco red & white.
